Delete your FamFam account

You can permanently delete your FamFam account and its data at any time. This page explains how to do it in the app, what is removed, what happens to data you share with your family, and how to request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.

Delete in the app

Open FamFam and go to the Settings tab. Scroll down to the Danger Zone and tap Delete Account.

You'll be asked to confirm twice. First:

“This will permanently delete your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.”

Then:

“Are you absolutely sure?”

After you confirm, your account is deleted immediatelyand you're signed out. This takes effect right away and is permanent — it cannot be undone.

If you're the family organiser

If you are the only organiser (the family's admin) of a family that still has other members, the app will stop you and ask you to promote another member to organiser first. This protects the rest of your family from being left without an admin.

Once another organiser exists, you can delete your account.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following is permanently removed:

  • Your profile— your name, nickname, email, avatar/initials/colour, and app preferences (for example, your home-screen settings).
  • Your sign-in credentials, including any linked Google or Apple sign-in.
  • Your push-notification registrations — you stop receiving notifications.
  • Your AI usage history and limits (recipe generation, categorisation, and similar).
  • Your membership in your family — your role, pinned lists, and notification preferences.

What happens to shared family data

If you're the last or only member of your family

The entire family is deleted along with all of its shared data: every list and list item, calendar events, meal plans, meal check-ins, recipes, and the family itself. Nothing is kept.

If other members remain in your family

  • You are removed from the family.
  • Lists you created that were private or shared with only specific people are converted to family-shared, so the rest of your family doesn't lose them.
  • You are removed from any lists that were shared specifically with you.
  • Recipes, calendar events, meal plans, and meal check-ins you created stay with the family so their shared history isn't broken — they are simply no longer linked to a personal profile.
  • Other members' personal data is unaffected.

Subscriptions

Deleting your FamFam account does not automatically cancel a paid (Plus) subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

To stop billing, you must also cancelthe subscription in your App Store or Google Play account's subscription settings. Deleting the app alone does not cancel a subscription either.

Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app, email support@famfam.life from the email address associated with your FamFam account, with the subject “Account deletion request”.

We will verify the request and permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days, and email you a confirmation. The same data rules described above apply.
